Thank you for this beautiful day. Thank you in general for the pleasant and uplifting weather lately. Thank you for a nice hike up the mountain, walk through the botanical garden, and lunch at the tea plantation overlooking West Lake on Saturday. You’ve provided us so many moments of joy and grace here, and we thank you for them (April 2, 2012).
Thank you for a quiet, rainy day, for good language classes the past few days, and for a wonderful church service this past Sunday at [the largest state church in China]. It was incredibly inspirational to sing hymns and pray the Apostles’ Creed and Lord’s Prayer in Chinese. Thank you too for the bookstore where I could buy some Chinese hymn CDs (April 24, 2012).
I am happy I could help with HICF, and I know it was by your grace alone that everything came together as well as it did [for the church's bilingual Easter service] (April 24, 2012).
God I thank you for a nice day trip to Shaoxing—we loved the fragrant trees lining the streets, the charming canal neighborhoods with people living their lives, the little back alleys and courtyards, the verdant town square and pagoda, and seeing the area around [famous Chinese writer] Lu Xun’s home. We also loved the pride that the calligraphy guy and paper cutting woman took in their work. It was nice to see some different scenery, and we praise you for protecting our travels to and from (April 30, 2012).
**Thank you Kathy and Kristina for sharing many of these pictures with me! :)
