Today is our big packing and last-minute errands day. One minute, I feel like things are falling into place quite smoothly, and the next moment, I'm freaking out and wondering if I'll have time to sleep any tonight. One big lesson I've been learning the past few days (and even months) is to let go of trying to control everything. I've been pleased and surprised with how smoothly the process has gone. I've also learned, however, that I cannot plan my way out of every situation--some items will only happen when they happen. This has been a difficult, yet important lesson to learn as I approach many instances where things are completely out of my control. A year ago, it would have stressed me tremendously to say I have no idea what will happen after this coming Monday, September 5th (the day we register for classes). Now, I almost find it relieving to know that I can only take one day at a time.
I should probably get back to the countless little tasks I should do before we head to the airport tomorrow! The next time I write will probably be from the other side of the world!
